The 25-year-old has reportedly flown to her hometown in Texas for a well-deserved break
Weeks after it was announced she had called time on her romance with Justin Bieber for the moment, Selena Gomez has reportedly flown back to her hometown in Texas to spend some quality time with family and friends.
An insider told E! News: 'Selena went to Texas for the weekend to be with her family. She's on a break with Justin partly because of family pressure but also because of some issues surrounding his birthday.
'She wanted to have a quiet birthday celebration with Justin and he wanted to go big and involve all of his church friends. They had a disagreement that didn't end well.'
While Gomez went 'Instagram official' with her on/off boyfriend on his birthday earlier this month, she was noticeably absent from his birthday party.
After a lunch in West Hollywood, a fleet of limos reportedly picked up the 24-year-old and his friends and took them to a go-kart raceway about 30 miles away.
While it's widely reported the pair are still in contact and the break isn't permanent, it's rumoured Selena is hoping her trip to Texas will provide some much-needed clarity on her situation.
'She wanted some time to clear her head and get away before figuring out what's coming next,' the source continued.
Yesterday, Selena's fans noticed she'd unfollowed her BFF and collaborator Petra Collins on Instagram, months after doing a friendship cull on the social media site that include the likes of Gigi Hadid, Demi Lovato and her mother, Mandy Teefey.
Some downtime at home will do her a world of good, we're sure.
