Mandy Teefey Had Nothing to Do with Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez's Split

Yesterday, it was reported that Mandy Teefey's disapproval of Jelena is the reason why Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber decided to pump the breaks on their rekindled relationship.

"Selena and Justin decided to take a break mainly because of Selena's mom and her disapproval of Justin," a source told Us Weekly. "Justin's family loves Selena, but Selena's family has put her in a very conflicting spot because they still don't trust Justin. Selena has tried to convince her family that Justin has changed…but her family just isn't budging right now."

But according to another source, this isn't the case at all. The insider tells People magazine, "They're not on a break because of her relationship with her mom. They have their own issues and are always on and off. She wouldn't base her relationship off of what her mom thinks."

"They've been having disagreements, but it wouldn't be surprising if they're back together in a week," the source adds.

The 25-year-old's relationship with her mother got rocky long before The Biebs came back into her life, but they were eventually able to reconcile. But even though SelGo and Mandy are apparently on good terms again, the 41-year-old hasn't been afraid to let the world know what she thinks of Jelena. She told Gossip Cop that she's "not happy" that the Canadian crooner is back in her daughter's life, but acknowledges that Selena is no longer a child and can make her own decisions.

"Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy," Mandy said. "She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."
