Justin Bieber NOT Laughing Over The Weeknd Shading Selena Gomez, Despite Claim

Justin Bieber was not caught laughing over The Weekend supposedly shading Selena Gomez, despite a speculative and sensational claim. Gossip Cop can bust this absurd and untrue story, which has no substantial evidence. Allow us to explain what's going on.

On Friday, The Weeknd released a new album that many have speculated references Gomez, particularly on the song "Call Out My Name." In addition to some lyrics that suggest he had offered to be her kidney donor, there are lines that some believe refer to her reuniting with Bieber shortly after their breakup: "I said I didn't feel nothing/baby but I lied/I almost cut a piece of myself for your life/Guess I was just another pit stop/'Til you made up your mind." Of course, The Weeknd hasn't revealed who actually inspired his latest music, nor has Gomez commented on the online discussion it's provoked.

But HollywoodLife wants readers to believe that Bieber has reacted. "Justin Bieber Pictured Laughing Hysterically After The Weeknd Shades Selena Gomez: Coincidence?" the site ridiculously asks in a headline. The accompanying piece begins by declaring, "It seems like someone got a kick out of The Weeknd's Selena Gomez diss track!" The blog explains that since Bieber was "spotted hysterically laughing on the same day" The Weeknd's album dropped, "we couldn't help but wonder if he heard the track 'Call Out My Name.'"

"Maybe JB finds it entertaining," suggests the website. But what is the evidence to support such a theory? The outlet has approximately none. Bieber was indeed photographed laughing by paparazzi on Friday as he walked with a friend in Los Angeles. But HollywoodLies, as it's nicknamed, has no idea what the pals were talking about. In fact, the online publication admits, "Of course, we don't know for sure what the 'Never Say Never' singer was laughing at, but the timing of it all is just too ironic."

But there's nothing "ironic" about it all. Bieber was seen laughing, something he and most people probably do every day. There is absolutely nothing that justifies the site connecting his apparent case of the giggles to a song The Weeknd happened release on the same day. HollywoodLies doesn't even provide any context for the sighting, which indicates the blog didn't bother to do any research before jumping to its unsubstantiated conclusion.

As seen in paparazzi video of Bieber that was taken around the same time as the picture of him laughing, he and his pal left SoulCycle, greeted a fan on the street, went to a coffee shop where they engaged in some horseplay, and then had another street encounter before ultimately getting in his car and taking off. Throughout the footage, Bieber is seen smiling and laughing. But somehow this all has to do with The Weeknd's new music? That makes no sense.

It also makes no sense to claim Bieber would be amused by The Weekend seemingly dissing their mutual love interest. It was just 10 days ago that the website insisted Bieber was going "crazy" due to spending time apart from Gomez, whom he supposedly had "on the brain constantly." If that was the case, why would he find it funny that there's a new song allegedly attacking her? Looking back at that tall tale, Gossip Cop is also reminded that HollywoodLies claimed he had plans to "wine and dine" Gomez when she returned to Los Angeles from Australia.

Well, she's been back in California for days, yet the two haven't stepped out together once. Obviously, the outlet didn't know what it was talking about. And if it really had a "source," as claimed then, it wouldn't have been wrong about the pair meeting up, and the publication also would've been able to reach out now to find out if Bieber really was laughing about Gomez and The Weeknd, as it foolishly believes.

For further proof that HollywoodLies is making something out of nothing, compare and contrast the way JustJared wrote about the same paparazzi photo of Bieber laughing. With the headline, "Justin Bieber Rocks Plaid Hoodie for Coffee Run With Friend," the post states he was "all smiles" and "looked like he was in a great mood while out and about with his friend." It further notes he "also stopped to take photos and chat with a young fan who recognized him on the street."

Nothing salacious is described because nothing salacious happened. Most notably, Gomez and The Weeknd aren't even mentioned. But HollywoodLies apparently rather deliver fake news than straight news.
