A new story claiming Justin Bieber asked Selena Gomez to join him on a "romantic pre-Valentine's Day vacation" is completely made-up. Not surprisingly, the manufactured tale comes from HollywoodLife, a website that both Bieber and Gomez have publicly slammed.
In its latest fabrication, a so-called "source" is quoted as telling the often discredited outlet, "Justin is on his way out of town and he invited Gomez to join him for a intimate getaway," adding, "He's left L.A. for some fun on a spiritual retreat, and he's hoping Selena will join him for a pre-Valentine's vacation." The online publication's questionable "insider" is then quoted as saying, "[Bieber's] plan is to stay at a secret location at a luxury resort for a few nights," and according to HollywoodLife's alleged "source," the singer is hoping Gomez "will break away from her busy schedule" to accompany him on the romantic trip. But the entire report is made-up, and Gossip Cop is hardly surprised by the website's newest piece of fan-fiction.
Remember, Gossip Cop previously corrected the outlet when it wrongly alleged Bieber and Gomez were going to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together, claims that were shot down by a family insider. What's more, we even busted HollywoodLies, a nickname its earned because of its penchant for fabricating stories, when it falsely guessed Bieber and Gomez were planning to spend New Year's Eve together in New York. Of course, Bieber and Gomez celebrated the New Year in Mexico, debunking the site's report. And now, despite being called out for its inaccuracy on numerous occasions, the outlet is pretending to know what the couple is doing on Valentine's Day.
When Gossip Cop investigated the story, no one close to either Bieber or Gomez could confirm the article. And if HollywoodLies really had reputable sources, it would surely know where the couple is staying on their "romantic pre-Valentine's day vacation," as well as when they're arriving. Instead, the website purports that Bieber's plan is to "stay at a secret location," and that way, in case they're not seen together on the most romantic day of the year, HollywoodLies can safely backtrack and claim they were in an undisclosed location.
As Gossip Cop has pointed out in the past, the untrustworthy blog is desperate to appear well informed with its supposed "exclusives," but in reality, no one from Bieber and Gomez's trusted inner circle would divulge private information about the couple with a website that Gomez herself once called "the worst." It's all lies.
