Justin Bieber's Mom Defends Him in Light of Criticism From Selena Gomez's Mom

Justin Bieber and his mom Pattie Mallette have had their fair share of ups and downs in their relationship, but at the end of the day, she always has her son's back.

That's why it's hard not to think that her recent Instagram post gushing about what an amazing, changed man Justin is doesn't have just a little to do with Selena Gomez's mom recently telling Gossip Cop that she's "not happy" about the "Sorry" singer's rekindled relationship with her daughter.

Along with a photo of Pattie cuddling up to Justin on a boat, Justin's mom showered him with praise in the caption. "I'm so proud of the amazing young man you are, and the young man you are becoming," she wrote.

Pattie admits that Justin has made mistakes, but that it doesn't define him because he's truly growing and changing now. "None of us are perfect and never will be, (so we will always need patience and grace for each other)," she continued. "But your genuine growing relationship with Jesus is evident in the choices you are making daily and the good 'fruit' you bear. I admire your character and integrity. You are maturing beautifully and wise beyond your years. You are so funny that I find myself laughing out loud when I'm alone, remembering of [sic] something you said or did. And your heart is gold. I love you to the moon and back. #lovemom... Ps. Did I mention I was proud of you?"

Awwww. So sweet.

It's a bummer that Selena and Justin's moms seem to be set at odds in this situation with Pattie supporting Jelena 2.o and Mandy being skeptical, but at the end of the day, Mandy just has her daughter's health and safety in mind. Same as Pattie.

While she may not be happy about Jelena, she told Gossip Cop that she recognizes Selena is an adult and can make her own decisions. "Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy," she told the publication.

Later, on Facebook, Mandy expressed that she'll always love and protect her daughter.

"I love my daughter, I have done nothing but help her dreams come true and protect her, but there is so much unknown to the world and more false information than truth," she wrote. "I will always be her mother. If she hasn't muttered anger about me than I have not done my job as a mother."

Justin and Selena are lucky to have mothers that love them so much.
