Here's Why Justin Bieber Didn't Perform at the Grammys

In case you missed it, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hit the Grammy stage last night to perform their hit song "Despacito." But some fans were wondering why Justin didn't make an appearance. According to Luis, the invitation was there...

"Obviously, I would love to perform it with him. I've only performed it with him once, and it was actually like an impromptu performance at his concert. So yeah, unfortunately he's not going to be here, but we hope that we can make him proud and that he enjoys it wherever he is," he told ET in an interview. "Of course, we extended the invitation. He's part of the nomination. He helped the song grow even more, and I'm so proud of the job that he did. I'm so proud that he decided to sing most of the song in Spanish, the chorus in Spanish. So, we're very grateful. He's a good friend. He's a good guy. Hopefully we'll be able to celebrate together."

But wait, there's more. TMZ recently reported this isn't the only public event Justin will be skipping out on. Apparently, he made a promise to not perform ANYWHERE until he finishes his new album.

We're excited to hear what Justin has been working on, but doesn't that sound a little extreme?
