Franco scrubbed from Vanity Fair cover
The cover of Vanity Fair's Hollywood issue features a cavalcade of high-wattage stars — Nicole Kidman, Harrison Ford, Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks — but one star didn't make the cut. James Franco posed for the cover, but was removed digitally in post-production, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed. "We made a decision not to include James Franco on the Hollywood cover once we learned of the misconduct allegations against him," a Vanity Fair spokesperson told THR. Franco's scrubbing didn't require a reshoot, as digital retouches are par for the course for the shoots. In fact, several retouches didn't go unnoticed by people this week: On the cover, Oprah Winfrey is pictured with three hands, and Reese Witherspoon somehow has an additional leg.
Affleck to skip Oscars
At the Academy Awards, it is tradition for the previous year's Best Actor winner to hand the award to the newly crowned Best Actress, but that won't be happening this year. Casey Affleck has chosen to not attend this year's Oscar ceremony, Deadline reports, because of the sexual misconduct allegations lobbed against him. Affleck was in hot water during the lead up to last year's Oscars — with reports of his inappropriate behavior toward two women with whom he worked on "I'm Still Here," one of whom he settled with out of court — muddying his Best Actor win for "Manchester by the Sea." It is not yet known who will present in his place.
