Selena Gomez's Family is Pissed About Jelena, But Justin Bieber's Mom's a Fan

When Selena Gomez's family found out she was back together with Justin Bieber, they were reportedly pissed.

One person said, "Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself."

But while the 25-year-old's relatives aren't the biggest fans of Jelena 2.0, the 23-year-old's mom only has good things to say about the "Wolves" singer.

"I don't know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn't share a whole lot, but I love her," Pattie Mallette told People magazine at the Justice Speaks Holiday Benefit Luncheon in Los Angeles on Saturday. "I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I've met her and we have a special bond so I think she's precious. I can't really speak on their relationship, that's between them."

The 41-year-old added that her famous son is in a great place right now and having love in his life is definitely helping.

She explained, "I think he's just keeping his focus on God, and really trying to figure out what counts and what matters. I think he's trying to be somehow normal in such an abnormal world, trying to find that balance. I feel like he's growing up and I'm really proud of him."

Justin and Pattie didn't always have the solid relationship they do now. Back in 2015, JB said their connection over the last few years was "pretty nonexisting."

"I was distant because I was ashamed," he explained. "I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was. We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust. She's living in Hawaii now, so it's hard, but getting better. She's an amazing woman and I love her."
