A university lecturer has been committed to stand trial after allegedly pretending to be Canadian singer Justin Bieber online in a bid to obtain explicit images from children.
According to The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, Gordon Douglas Chalmers, 42, will stand trial on more than 900 charges.
The 42-year-old, who is currently behind bars, will face the District Court in Brisbane at an unconfirmed date.

The law lecturer at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, was charged last November with nearly 1,000 counts of grooming and procuring children under 16 and accessing child porn.
It is alleged Gordon would tell children from Britain, the US and Germany that he was Bieber and then used Skype to get them to perform sex acts,The Courier Mail previously reported.
The lecturer's home was raided by Queensland police after a tip off from German and United States authorities.

Appearing in the Brisbane Magistrates' Court in November, Gordon was refused bail.
The court heard more than 123,000 conversations over Skype had been logged on Gordon's computer and that if released there was a risk he may delete some.
The allegations surrounding Gordon date as far back as 2007.
