And according to a new report, Justin Bieber's on-and-off girlfriend is not too thrilled about it.
Fans of Gomez are saying, what did she expect? She dumped The Weeknd and rushed to Bieber's arms in a matter of hours.
It did not take the Canadian R&B star very long to remove all the romantic photos and selfies that he shared with the Texan diva from his page.
An insider has come out to say that Gomez was hoping for an amicable relationship with her ex and is disappointed that things have taken a sad turn.
The friend said: "When Selena and The Weeknd broke up, she really believed they could stay friends, that is what they promised each other. She would really like to be friends with The Weeknd; she is bummed that it' taken this kind of turn."
The same person claimed that Gomez is not angry with her former flame and added: "Selena does not hold grudges and has told all their mutual friends that the friendship is still something she wants. But the ball is in his court. He is not open to it at all right now, but hopefully, that will change soon. That is what Selena would like."
In an interview with Billboard magazine, she was being honored as "Woman of the Year," she said: "Something that I'm really proud of is that there's such a true friendship [between The Weeknd and me] Selena said she and the Weeknd ended their romance as best friends and it was about encouraging and caring [for each other]."
Another friend claimed that Gomez was surprised by the news that The Weeknd had a romantic dinner with singer Katy Perry.
The person stated: "Selena was shocked when she found out about The Weeknd meeting up with Katy Perry for dinner. Selena was a little confused by the randomness of those two meeting."
However, she is happy to be with Bieber.
The pal claimed: "Selena is so wrapped up with Bieber right now, that she really isn't too concerned with Abel, Katy or anyone else. She is focused on her own happiness with Justin."
