All The Official Number 1 Singles Of 2017

2017 is quickly drawing to a close. Over the past 12 months major artists such as Kesha, Lorde and Kendrick Lamar have all released huge singles. However, only a few stars have managed to battle the odds and make it to the top spot this year.

Who were they exactly? Find out below...

The year started with Clean Bandit reigning supreme. After logging seven weeks at Number 1 in 2016, the band stayed atop of the charts for two more weeks in January with 'Rockabye'. Since its release, it's sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK alone.

Ed Sheeran then began his huge 13 consecutive week-long stint at the top with this year's biggest single 'Shape of You'. Harry Styles took over for one week with his debut 'Sign of the Times' but 'Shape of You' returned to the Number 1 spot right after.

Clean Bandit still had another Number 1 to score though, this time it was their Zara Larsson hit 'Symphony'. It knocked Ed from the top spot and then was quickly overtaken by DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper and Quavo with 'I'm the One'.

'Despacito' then reigned supreme. Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber were Number 1 for a massive 11 weeks, only interrupted by Artists for Grenfell's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryon Tiller's 'Wild Thoughts'.

'Shape of You' may be the song of 2017 but it's clear that 'Despacito' was the song of the summer.

Calvin Harris officially ended its reign in August with 'Feels' before both Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift ended the drought of solo women at the top of the charts as lead artists in 2017 with 'New Rules' and 'Look What You Made Me Do' respectively.

Sam Smith had three weeks outselling and outstreaming everyone else with 'Too Good at Goodbyes', Post Malone and 21 Savage nabbed four with 'rockstar' and Camila Cabello and Young Thug amassed an enormous five with 'Havana'.

Adele was the last female soloist to be Number 1 for five weeks with 'Someone Like You' in 2011.

And now Ed Sheeran returns to the top with 'Perfect' thanks to a remix with Beyoncé herself.

Will he stay there for the rest of the year or does he have competition? What do you think?
