The Biebs crashes practice

A Whistler Midget hockey team had a surprise player show up at their practice Thursday night.

Justin Bieber was in town snowboarding at the world-renowned resort and was looking to get a skate in while he was in town.

Mike Kleso, coach of the Whistler Minor Hockey Association Winterhawks Midget A1 team, told his team that a new guy was coming to practice to try out for the team.

They were more than a little surprised when the "new guy" was pop star Justin Bieber.

Rob Palm, a father of one of the players, took to Facebook after the scrimmage, praising Bieber's performance on and off the ice.

"The Biebs has pretty good hands and knew exactly where to be," Palm wrote. "He was super humble and a true gentleman. I gained a lot of respect for him as a result. Thank you JB!"

Palm said Bieber scored a couple goals in the game, while their goalie made "a few nice saves" on him as well.

"The magic of living in Whistler," Palm wrote.
