Latin Music Continues To Soar In Popularity In The United States

Following the success of the record-breaking "Despacito" which became the first video on YouTube to surpass 4 billion views in just 272 days, Latin music is having quite the explosive moment on YouTube.

Back in January, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released "Despacito" and gained a new wave of popularity when Justin Bieber remixed the song in April. In addition to Despacito's worldwide success, J Balvin and Willy William's "Mi Gente" garnered 1 billion views in just 102 days.

As a follow up to "Despacito," American popstar Demi Lovato and Luis Fonsi released "Echame La Culpa" which already has 87 million views since November 16th.

According to YouTube statistics and Forbes, at least 20 Latin music videos clocked in with at least 1 billion views this past year, representing a 300% increase from the previous year.
