British singer Sam Smith will perform a one-off concert at the Sydney Opera House early next year.
Smith last toured the country in 2015, initially cancelling some shows on the tour because of a small haemorrhage on his vocal chords, but returned with rescheduled dates later that same year.
This time he'll play the one-off show just months after the release of his second album, The Thrill of It All.
The record has a tough act to follow, his first album In The Lonely Hour was a four-time Grammy Award winner.
Smith has also won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his song Writing's On The Wall, the theme to the James Bond movie Spectre.
The first single from the new album, Too Good at Goodbyes, did manage to top the Australian singles charts on its release and the rest of the album features collaborations with legendary producer Timbaland and Justin Bieber's collaborator Jason 'Poo Bear' Boyd.
The Opera House show on January 16 is the only concert Smith has announced for Australia, with tickets for the gig going on sale on October 16.
In order to clamp down on ticket scalpers, tickets are limited to a maximum of two per person and ticket purchasers will have to show photo ID to match the name on the ticket.
*The Thrill Of it All is out on November 3
