JUSTIN BIEBER says people should stop hating on The X Factor — but has warned Simon Cowell the pressure's on to find new talent… fast.
The Friends singer suggested Si has been resting on his laurels ever since discovering his world-beating cash-cow One Direction seven years ago.
The 23-year-old said: 'These shows have credibility for as long as they keep discovering talent. You aren't going to find a One Direction every season but I think Simon does need to find a big star this year.' Defending the show, Biebs — who was discovered on YouTube — says he is baffled by people's aversion to reality pop acts.
'I have never understood the hate towards talent shows,' he said. 'Some of the biggest artists of the last ten years have been discovered that way.'
He pointed out: 'If it wasn't for those shows, we might not know who One Direction, Little Mix, Kelly Clarkson and Fifth Harmony are… and that wouldn't be good for the industry.'
Meanwhile, Biebs vowed to 'shine a light on racism' at the weekend.
Posting a picture of the Black Lives Matter logo on Instagram, he promised to do his bit for the cause.
The Sorry singer wrote: 'I am a white Canadian and I will never know what it feels like to be an African American.
'But what I do know is I am willing to stand up and use my voice to shine light on racism, because it's a real thing and it's more prevalent now than I have ever seen in my lifetime,' he added, before signing off with: 'We are all God's children and we are all equal.'
