SMSO presents 'Sips & Sounds'

ST. JOSEPH — The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra presents "Sips & Sounds," a two-day summer celebration at Shadowland Pavilion on Silver Beach.

The event features live music and local and international wines, beer and food.

PS Dump Your Boyfriend performs at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The popular regional band's repertoire includes psychedelic rock, spaced-out funk, hardcore rock, freestyle disco rap and other genres.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show.

Led by music director Robin Fountain, the SMSO performs with Brass Transit at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The Madhatters open the concert at 5:30 p.m.

The Madhatters began in 1997 as the first a cappella group on the University of Wisconsin campus. Its setlists include songs by The Spaniels, Foreigner, Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers and others spanning several decades and genres.

Formed in 2008, Brass Transit plays the music of the rock band Chicago.

Tickets are $25-$5 in advance and $30-$10 the day of the show.

Participating local wineries include Tabor Hill, Lazy Ballerina, Round Barn, Cranes Cider, Great Hall Mead, 12 Corners, Free Run Cellars and Virtue Cider. International wines include Van Ruiten, Cardwell Hill, Craggy Range, Los Haroldos, Nozzole, Caposaldo, Saint Louis, Michele Chiarlo, Domaine De Couron and Bastide de Pierre.

Participating breweries include Round Barn Brewery, Silver Harbor Brewing Co., Tapistry Brewing Co. and Saugatuck Brewing Co.
