Justin Bieber hits paparazzo with truck outside church (video)

Justin Bieber is accused of hitting a paparazzo with his truck outside a church in Beverly Hills.

Video shows a swarm of paparazzi surrounding the 23-year-old singer Wednesday night as he left the City Church near the Saban Theater. Bieber got into a black truck and attempted to drive off when a photographer fell to the ground after apparently being struck around 9:24 p.m. PT.

A witness told E! News it appeared to be an accident.

"He drove out slowly, and there was a group of photographers on the driver's side and a group on the passenger's side. Once he drove out, the driver's side paparazzo started walking around the front of the car. It was like a mob scene, flashing at him," an eyewitness says. "The group on the right passenger side got pinned against Kourtney Kardashian's car, parked on the sidewalk. The guy fell down in the mob--kind of under the front of the car--and the wheel ran over his leg when Justin accelerated. When the photographers stopped flashing and knelt down to help their friend, that's when Justin realized he hit someone and got out of the car to help."

Video shows Bieber helping while awaiting emergency assistance for the paparazzo, who was identified as a 57-year-old man. At one point a girl is heard yelling at Bieber, saying "We are here for you! We are praying for you!"

"We don't need more people yelling here, OK? That's nice of you, but we don't need anybody else yelling, please," Bieber responded.

The "Despacito" singer was questioned by police, but was not arrested. It's unclear if he could face charges at a later date.

According to E! News, paramedics treated the injured paparazzo, who was taken to L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center via ambulance. Police said he suffered non-life-threatening injuries to one of his lower extremities.

Bieber, who's had a history of legal troubles, did not address media questions. He recently canceled the remainder of his Purpose World Tour amid reports he's experienced a "spiritual awakening" through the Hillsong Church.
