Justin Bieber Banned From China for Causing “Discontent Among the Public”

Justin Bieber is not welcome in China, according to a statement from the country's culture bureau. When asked by a fan why the petulant pop star was skipping China in his endless Purpose world tour, the bureau correctly described Bieber as a "gifted" but "controversial young foreign idol" who "has engaged in a series of bad behaviors, both in his social life and during a previous performance in China, which caused discontent among the public."

It's unclear which of Bieber's numerous mini-scandals prompted the ban, but if we had to guess we'd say it was the time in 2013 when he had his bodyguards carry him up the Great Wall of China, or his 2014 DUI arrest, or when he pulled down his pants to show his friends his ass while visiting ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico.

There's still hope for singer's career in China, though; the culture bureau ended their statement by writing that they "hope Justin Bieber is able to improve his conduct as he grows up and will once again find public favor." [The Hollywood Reporter]
