Bieber banned from performing in China

Being banned in China is now better than winning an Grammy

Being banned in China is now better than winning an Grammy

Sorry, Justin Bieber - you're not welcome to perform in China. The 23-year-old singer is now on his third world tour, with Asian dates in Japan, India, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia.

According to a statement from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture, the Canadian singer and songwriter is not allowed to visit the capital of China because of his misconduct.

It is "inappropriate to introduce bad behaviour into the performing arts" it said, calling the performer out for his antics and urging him to turn over a new leaf.

"We hope Justin Bieber can improve his words and deeds in the process of growing up and become a singer people really like".

"Justin Bieber has won many big awards, he must have a lot of talent, why have Chinese fans not been afforded the right to appreciate him?" asked He Wenrui, the fan who wrote to Beijing's bureau of culture. The group has had to cancel its gig at the Summer Sonic Festival in Shanghai in September and faces a lifetime ban from performing in China after posting a picture of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, on the band's official Instagram page. She received a response arguing that his behavior threatens the purity of the nation and despite the fact that he has a good voice, his actions don't align with what the Chinese government wants for its entertainment sector.

The memo also states that Bieber has "had a series of bad behavior" incidents, which didn't bode well for the singer publicly. However, his stunt in China resulted in social media outrage as pictures showing Bieber being carried up the Great Wall of China by his bodyguards resulted in mockery across the world. He was arrested for unsafe driving and assault in his native Canada in September 2014. And it seems as though he's working to make amends.

He also made headlines for his May concert in Mumbai. At least, as far as China is concerned.
