It's a big world of Beliebers out there, but only one Justin Bieber to go around. Though fans in Israel were happy to learn that he had booked his first show in Tel Aviv in over five years, they were less than thrilled with the date. Justin will be performing on May 3, 2017 – the night before the national biology exam.
Earlier this morning, The Washington Post reported that students were trying to petition for a date change, as they fear the performance would be a detriment to their ability to prepare the night prior.
"With due respect to biology, Justin Bieber does not come to Israel every year. This exam will prevent many high school kids from going to his performance," the Post reported one student wrote on the Facebook page of Israel's National Student and Youth Council. "Too right. This is a one-time performance and for some people it's very important to them. I see why those who are majoring in biology have to make the choice of giving up on the show. The school board really needs to try help move it. This really sucks and I, as a biology student, really don't know what to do," wrote another.
Though it seems the prioritization between pop concert and national biology exam would be self-evident, never doubt the passion of Beliebers. It remains to be seen whether or not either the school or Justin's camp will change the date.
