Teen pop idol Justin Bieber in Bologna

One hundred million copies sold thanks to just four albums, an endless list of international recognitions, over 89 million Twitter followers and 77.6 million Facebook fans that make him, like it or not, one of the web's most influential personalities, a net worth of $225 million that earns him "world's wealthiest under 25" status.

At this precise point in time, Justin Bieber may incarnate the teen idol par excellence. The 22-year-old Canadian singer is traveling the world on his "Purpose World Tour," named after his fourth album, "Purpose," which was released a year ago and swiftly turned into the fourth best-seller in his career, breaking sales records all over the planet, including platinum certification here in Italy.

Now, Italians will be able to see him live at the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Saturday 19 and Sunday, November 20.

The concert week is not all mainstream, though. Thursday, November 24, for instance, Teatro Zancanaro in Sacile (near Pordenone) will feature Asaf Avidan, Israeli singer and songwriter whose very particular vocal timbre fascinated the Sanremo Festival audience with his acoustic hit, "Reckoning Song (One Day)."

If you favor rap, Fabrique in Milan will showcase the Anglo-Nigerian Tinie Tempah on November 21.

A touch of welcome Sixties nostalgia with the return of Pretty Things, the London band that played a key role in the era of the British Invasion and crossed paths with Rolling Stones when it started out.

Their influence was enormous, if we consider that David Bowie recorded cover versions of such Pretty Things hits as "Rosalyn" and "Don't Bring Me Down" in "Pin Ups," the 1973 album he devoted to cover versions of some of his favorite music. We'll be seeing the group at Savona's Raindog House on November 20, on the 22nd at Benicio Live Gigs in Giavera del Montello (Treviso), on the 24th at the Urban Club in Perugia, the 25th at the Freakout of Bologna and the 26th at Loggia del Leopardo in Vogogna (Verbania).

More vintage thrills on November 19 at the Bronson in Ravenna with a performance by The Telescopes, an English noise rock band formed in the late 1980s.

Today's punk – in the hardcore sense of the term – comes to us from a Rhode Island group, Verse, whose sole Italian date is November 19 at Fabrique in Milan. Uncompromising Hard & Heavy fans will save the date of November 21 at the Alcatraz in Milan with the US vanguard thrash metal band Testament.

Finally, there's an interesting program of jazz events. On November 18 and 19, for instance, there will be two double live sessions at the Blue Note in Milan with the Mike Stern & Dave Weckl Band. Billy Cobham, the absolute master of percussion, will be at the Auditorium in Rome (November 18) and the Venetian Teatro Toniolo (November 19) for the project that sees him flanked by guitar virtuoso Stanley Jordan.
