NBA Kings Trade: Marcin Gortat in, DeMarcus Cousins out?

NBA Kings trade — DeMarcus Cousins reportedly admits that he is to blame for their loss against the Spurs. With his leadership skills put in question, should Sacramento send him to Washington Wizards for disgruntled Marcin Gortat?

In a video interview with The Sacramento Bee, head coach Dave Joerger laments their defeat against the San Antonio Spurs.

He said that they were not able to do anything to stop the Spurs from running their plays. "They got the shots where they wanted to get them, they cut where they wanted to cut, they drove where they wanted to drive," he added.

For his part, team captain DeMarcus Cousins reportedly blamed himself for not exerting effort to push his teammates to play better. "I take the blame for that, as the leader of this team, I have to do better," a part of his statement reads.

Recent reports revealed that Marcin Gortat is frustrated at the lack of bench support in the Wizards team. Could a swap between Gortat and Cousins push through this time?

This finger-pointing and blame game never seem to end for the Kings, as per critics. Moreover, it is not surprising that forward Rudy Gay has reportedly opted out of his contract for next year. Cousins and Gay have been publicly airing their frustrations over the lack of direction of the management for the future of the franchise, as per reports.

Cousins has been involved in trade rumors all summer long. Now, fans are wondering if that will happen sooner or later. Critics have it that it might be better to trade him now to get prospects in return.

According to CSN Bay Area, Cousins delivered his usual numbers. However, experts agree that there is no use of putting up MVP numbers when he cannot even lead his team to victories.

The loss could be blamed on their coach or star player but, regardless, others have to step up, too, critics say. Rudy Gay only had 11 points and has purportedly been shooting poorly in their past games. If the Kings want to win, critics advise that it should be a collective effort between members of their team.

Right now, the Gortat-Cousins trade scenario is just a speculation. However, if losses pile up for the Wizards and the Kings, fans are already expecting their teams to entertain trade talks for their big men.
