Sunday evening brings the biggest stars from various genres as the American #Music Awards 2016 live stream and televised show takes place. The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles will be the host site, as hip-hop star Drake leads all nominees with a record year for nominations. Other top nominees will include Rihanna, Adele, and Justin Bieber. The latest show features a star-studded lineup of performers which could have fans of various music talking on Monday morning. Here's a look at who is nominated, who some of the performers are, and how to watch the AMAs live streaming online for the 2016 edition of the show.
Drake tops all AMA nominees
Not only does the hip-hop star have the most nominations this year, he's achieved the most nominations for an artist ever. His 13 total nominations took out a 1984 record from the legendary Michael Jackson, who had a high of 11 nominations. That puts Drake in the upper echelon of musical achievement and he could very well leave tonight's show with a wheelbarrow full of trophies.
Other top nominees for this year's awards show will include Rihanna with a total of seven. There had been loads of rumors over the past months with regards to Drake and Rihanna dating, so it should be interesting to see if these two top nominees share any special moments tonight.
Adele and Justin Bieber each have five nominations heading into the show, while Beyonce and the Chainsmokers have four apiece. There are also a group of artists with three nominations. They include country singer Carrie Underwood, pop/R&B star The Weeknd, hip-hop artist Fetty Wap, and the band Twenty One Pilots.

Who are the AMA performers?
What would a music awards show be without performers? This year's lineup includes quite a collection of stars from the music world. Featured talents will include pop star Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Fifth Harmony, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and more. Several performances will be duets including Maroon 5 teaming up with hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar.
It's always interesting to see any other big surprises the performers might have in store. Could there be a huge controversial moment? Perhaps someone will show up for a guest duet or collaboration on the stage? It's certainly an event worth checking out just for that.
Model Gigi Hadid and "SNL" alum Jay Pharoah will host tonight's #AMA show making for an interesting duo on stage. What sorts of impersonations might Pharoah use to entertain the crowd? He's certainly been known to give great imitations of Jay-Z and Will Smith, among other celebs.
FINALLY met my co-host @GiGiHadid today! Get ready for the @AMAs tomorrow at 8/7c on ABC. #AMAs pic.twitter.com/aVdGwtNxzC
