Celebrities often turn to Thrasher Magazine's clothing line when they're looking to wear cool graphic tees or sweatshirts. In fact, Thrasher clothing is dominating the current merch trend taking over the industry. Since the clothing is an extension of the skater magazine, you would think that the celebrities wearing Thrasher merch have a deep connection to the publication they're representing. As it turns out, that couldn't be further from the truth. And Thrasher Editor-in-Chief Jake Phelps is taking issue with that alleged lack of authenticity.
He recently spoke out against the Hollywood set, saying, "We don't send boxes to Justin Bieber or Rihanna or those fing clowns." He added: "The pavement is where the real s** is. Blood and scabs, does it get realer than that?" Justin or Rihanna have yet to respond to the Jake's inflammatory statement. Time will tell whether they stop wearing the merch altogether, but we expect celebs will start trading in their Thrasher gear for merch of the less combative variety.
