Sofia Richie and Justin Bieber are no more, and according to a new report, it was the singer who chose to end their relationship after just six weeks of dating.
While both parties have remained silent in regard to the split thus far, a source on Tuesday suggested Bieber had simply missed the joys of living the single life.
"Justin Bieber, 22, loves dating, and occasionally a girl will grab his eye for a brief moment, but then he finds himself missing the benefits of bachelorhood," a source explained to Hollywood Life of the split on September 20. "One thing that was different with Sofia Richie, 18, is that Justin thought was she was really cool."

When they were dating, Sofia Richie and Justin Bieber were quite vocal about their relationship on social media — at least at first. During a trip to Japan in August, Bieber shared a couple of photos of himself and Sofia Richie, one of which led to quite a lot of drama among his fans and with his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
Following the posting of a few photos on Sofia Richie's Instagram page, Bieber posted one of his own, and after fans reacted by attacking Richie, Bieber threatened to make his account private. He also slammed his fans, telling them that he didn't consider them to be fans if they were being mean to someone he liked. Then, a short time later, Gomez weighed in.
In a post on Instagram to her ex, Gomez put Bieber on blast, claiming that he shouldn't be putting photos of himself and Sofia Richie on Instagram and reminding him that his fans love him and that they've been there for him since the start. In response, Bieber blasted Gomez for using him for publicity.
Following the Instagram drama, Bieber deleted his account entirely but Sofia Richie remained active on social media as they traveled to Mexico to celebrate her 18th birthday. Although the couple appeared to be going strong during their trip and were even caught kissing one another on the beach, they reportedly broke up just weeks later and some sources claim they were never exclusive, much like his relationship with Hailey Baldwin months ago.
"They were never officially together, but more casual hanging out and having fun," an insider told E! News. "It was super-hot and heavy, and because Justin doesn't want a relationship right now, he wanted to cool things down… it wasn't an intentional cool-off… [it] just sort of happened on its own."
As fans may recall, Bieber dated Baldwin on and off for months until May, when Bieber stepped out with Nicola Peltz.

"They are still friends though and will continue to see each other like they did before they were dating," the insider continued. "They are taking a backseat though on the romance side of things and just focusing on being friends at this time."
When Justin Bieber began dating Sofia Richie, a source spoke to E! News about the status of their relationship and revealed that they started out as friends.
"Besides hooking up it all started as really good friends so they have a great foundation," the source revealed, adding, "They have not discussed titles yet with each other, just taking it slow."
The insider also said, "[Sofia Richie] would like to be exclusive and hopes it will lead into that shortly. She has always had something for Justin."
