See Thomas Rhett's Acoustic Cover of Justin Bieber's 'Cold Water'

Thomas Rhett cozied up with another romantic Justin Bieber cover Wednesday, performing an aching, acoustic version of the pop star's current single, "Cold Water," on The Bobby Bones Show.

Originally released as a buoyant, synthesized jam about braving any danger for love, the song was recorded by electronic group Major Lazer and features Bieber as a guest along with Danish singer MØ, but T-Rhett stripped it down to its base elements, reworking the tune with two acoustic guitars, a keyboard and his passionate vocals. British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is actually one of eight co-writers on the track, which may help explain why it works so well in a stripped-down format.

This is at least the second Bieber cover for Rhett, who previously reinterpreted the mega hit "Love Yourself" in similar bare-bones fashion. And the platinum-selling country artist with six Number Ones to his credit has never been shy about sharing his love for the Biebs, even documenting his night out with friends and wife Lauren to Bieber's Nashville tour stop in June.

Currently finishing up the last few dates on Jason Aldean's Six String Circus tour, Rhett will embark on his first-ever headlining arena run following the holiday season. His 2017 Home Team Tour kicks off February 23rd in Saginaw, Michigan, featuring Kelsea Ballerini, Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd.
