Justin Bieber, Lionel Richie Collaboration Story Made Up By Tabloid

Lionel Richie is NOT trying to collaborate with Justin Bieber, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We're told it's "false."

According to the National Enquirer, Lionel doesn't trust his daughter Sofia's supposed "boyfriend" and so he wants to keep tabs on him. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "Lionel is so desperate to protect Sofia from Justin's bad-boy ways. He knows Justin is a notorious womanizer." The outlet's dubious insider adds, "When Lionel is working with Justin, he'll be able to keep a close eye on him. Lionel is a savvy businessman, but he's also just a concerned and uptight dad."

However, there's one major flaw with the magazine's report. As Gossip Cop reported, Bieber and Sofia split earlier this week. Despite the two no longer being in a relationship, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively tells us Lionel never schemed to collaborate with Bieber during the time he was dating his daughter. We're assured the magazine's entire story is completely "false."

Unfortunately, the Enquirer has published a number of false stories involving the pop star's relationship with Sofia and her famous family members. We recently busted the tabloid for alleging Nicole Richie was worried Bieber might get her sister pregnant. There was no truth to that claim, and the same goes for this latest one.
