Justin Bieber Moaned and Someone Bit Kanye: An Unprecedented Week in

It's been a heck of a week in celebrity massages. On Wednesday, July 20, we learned that Justin Bieber had a massage. This was a news item because he was a regular Moaning Myrtle in New York's Aire Ancient Baths. An anonymous source told Page Six, he was "next to one of the pools getting massaged by two very large, strong men," and he was "moaning for all to hear." As is his wont and right when receiving a vigorous rubdown.

The next day, by chance or design, celebrity masseuse Dorothy Stein opened all the way up to Billboard about her long roster of clients—mostly about how she bites them and some of them like it. (It's a circulation technique, creeps.) And thanks to her openness, all of humankind can be separated into two buckets, i.e. those that like a bite and those that don't. Into it: Kanye West, Juliette Lewis, David Bowie, select members of the Grateful Dead, and Simon Cowell. Not about it: Mariah Carey. ("She's a germophobe.") Kanye in particular enjoyed being bit during a two-hour massage from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., which sounds like the ideal time and length for a massage.

This isn't the first time Stein has tossed some bread crumbs about how her clients like to be platonically touched. She once told Refinery29 a really good story: "I massaged Mariah Carey until about 6:00 a.m. while she watched Mean Girls on a loop. She loves to just chill in bed watching a film and having her feet done for hours." While this is an excellent—or chilling, depending on how you interpret it—story, one has to wonder: do Stein's celebrity clients care about this breach in massage therapist/recipient confidentiality?
