Remember the time we all found out about THAT painting of Justin Bieber that Macklemore has in his studio? Yeah well, he's finally spoken out about it and his reason for having it is far more rational than we ever thought it would be.
When the news surfaced about the picture, and even an image of the painting started doing the rounds, we kinds thought it was totally weird. Like, why on earth would Macklemore want than hanging in his studio… the one place he lets his creative juices flow?
Well, it turns out he's got money on the brain. It's an investment… or so he says.

Speaking to TMZ recently, the rapper said that he bought the art piece from Etsy as an investment, but he's grown quite fond of it so he won't be getting rid of it any time soon.
"It's an investment piece. I think that that painting is going to be worth a lot of money. I search eBay and Etsy for fine pieces of art. It cost me about $20, I'm pretty sure that the minute that the Justin Bieber album went to No. 1, I'm pretty sure that painting went to about $30, $33. Do the math, man," he said.
Well, we think just the fact that Macklemore owns it and it was in the press a lot would do the painting a lot of justice and a LOT of people would want to buy it for more than just $33. Whereas, if the average Joe Blogs (A.K.A. ME) owned it, it probably wouldn't even sell for the $20 it was purchased for.
When asked if the painting being in his recording studio helps him to make better music, he bluntly replied: "Probably not". Well there you go…
So, now you know exactly why Macklemore has this weird painting and why he's not gotten rid of it yet.
