Justin Bieber and His Mom Bond Over Pedicures

Justin Bieber is a busy guy these days. If you follow him on Instagram, you'll see him taking helicopter rides with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton. They presumably flew the chopper to Big Bear Lake in California, where they participated in the type of hybrid aquatic activities that only people with unlimited time and money are able to do. The two also spent time with Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr., because Biebs likes to keep his entourage international and eclectic. Despite the variety of friends and hobbies he's picked up, however, our boy also likes to return to his roots. Namely, Justin Bieber still spends time with his mother. He proved this in a new Instagram photo from yesterday.

The picture shows Biebs and his mother, Pattie Mallette, getting pedicures with the singer's friend Yung Killa. Because after all of that wakeboarding (or whatever that thing he and Hamilton are doing is called), dirt-biking, fishing, and swimming, Justin Bieber definitely needs some me-time with his moms to get his tootsies smoothed and buffed into uncallused perfection.

Did they discuss his weird nighttime theater kid video from two days ago? We can only hope. "I love that you're showing your creative side," Mallet must have said. "You don't always have to be this hoverboard-riding badass, you know." "God mom, I know," Bieber would respond, because no matter how many international scandals you've caused, and how many number-one singles you've had, you can still be mildly chastised by your mother in a loving manner while getting pedicures.

Bieber and his mother seem totally copacetic these days, though. They've hit some rough patches in the past, with Bieber telling Billboard in August 2015 that his relationship with her was "pretty nonexisting. I was distant because I was ashamed. I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was."

Mallette currently lives in Hawaii, and the two are working to repair their bond. Pedis can help, but so can this public declaration of love during a concert.
