But the performances will be the real highlights of the 2016 BBMAs. Celine Dion will take the stage four months after the death of her husband, René Angélil. Dion, who is also receiving the ICON Award, will perform "The Show Must Go On," which has taken on new meaning for her since her husband's passing.
"When I sing 'The Show Must Go On,' because when I was sick or when he was sick ... even before I sang the song, he kept saying, 'Show must go on," she told ABC News before the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. "So because René said, 'The show must go on,' and that he gave me a lot of strength. And you know what? I'm at peace."

"You don't want to miss P!nk," Bracco said before the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. "She has done incredible award performances — she has flown through the air, there have been acrobatics and fire — but it's all going to come together in this performance."
The 2016 BBMAs will also feature the debut of Adele's new music video for "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)." And Madonna will perform what will surely be an emotional tribute to Prince.

Still, Madonna's 2016 Billboard Music Awards performance has not been without controversy. Over 8,000 fans have signed a Change.org petition demanding that other artists join the tribute. Many were particularly upset that African-American singers weren't chosen to participate. Others felt that producers should have chosen artists who worked more closely with Prince, or who were more directly inspired by him. But Bracco continues to defend his decision.
"Listen, I think everybody is entitled to their opinion and everyone can have their own opinion, but I will say that we are honored and could not be more excited for Madonna to be on the show and to pay tribute to someone that was her friend and her peer and her colleague," Bracco told The Associated Press. "I think it's going to be fantastic."
