Justin Bieber gets sued for stealing 'Sorry' melody

Take a second and listen this song from the indie act White Hinterland, Ring The Bell.

Anything sound familiar?

If you noticed Casey Dienel's opening vocal riff sounds just like Justin Bieber's Sorry, you're not alone. On Thursday, Dienel posted on the White Hinterland Facebook page, writing that she filed suit against Bieber, the song's producer Skrillex and "other responsible parties" behind the song.

"As many of you that follow my career and work have already recognized, Justin Bieber's song Sorry copies the vocal riff prominently featured in my song Ring the Bell," she wrote. "The writers, producers, and performers of Sorry did not obtain a license for this exploitation of my work, nor did they obtain or seek my permission."

Dienel acknowleged that she faces an uphill battle in the David-versus-Goliath legal case. "Justin Bieber is the world's biggest artist, and I'm sure that he and his team will launch a full attack against me," she wrote in the post. "But, in the end, I was left with no other option. I believe I have an obligation to stand up for my music and art."

If only there were some song lyrics we could use about how it's too late now to say sorry.
