The Billboard 2016 Music Awards will have a live stream on ABC News to give you the blow-by-blow happening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV beginning at 8 pm ET Sunday. The show is hosted by Ludacris with Ciara as co-host.
Aside from catching the winners for the main categories–such as Top Artist, Top New Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Hot 100 Song–you'll see the full performances of the music industry's A-list celebrities. Britney Spears, a recipient of the prestigious "Millennium Award", will open the awards night singing her greatest hits. The award has previously honored Whitney Houston and Beyonce.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber will debut his song "Company" and Blake Shelton will have a romantic duet with Gwen Stefani with "Go Ahead and Break My Heart." Other performances include: DNCE, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Pink, and Fifth Harmony.
Likewise, the Billboard 2016 Music Awards "is going to be filled with a lot of emotion," said executive producer Marc Bracco to RollingStone magazine. Madonna will perform a special tribute to the late Prince, while David Bowie will be posthumously honored with a nomination for Top Rock Album for his last work, Blackstar.
Celine Dion, on the other hand, will receive this year's lifetime achievement ICON Award, putting her in the same league with Neil Diamond, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, and Stevie Wonder.
The Weeknd tops the Billboard 2016 Music Awards for the most number of nominated categories (16) followed by Justin Bieber with 11. Curiously, Drake has two albums competing for Top Rap Album: If You're Reading This It's Too Late and What A Time To Be Alive, a collaboration with Future. Adele and Taylor Swift, meantime, dominates the categories for Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album. Possible repeat winners this year include One Direction, Coldplay, and Carrie Underwood.
