But thanks to the one and only Justin Bieber, the song is on the road of becoming an international sensational. One day after the "Love Yourself" singer teased fans with the news of a remix for Fonsi's big hit, our ears were blessed with the amazing collab. In the remix, the Biebs starts off singing the song in English, but things get hot when the popstar shows off his Spanish skills in the chorus. Although Bieber has previously collaborated withJ. Balvin for a billingual version of his song "Sorry," this is the first time the star has sung in Spanish.
Fans are already quite taken by the remix. In the first 24 hours, the audio-video premiere generated more than 20 million views on YouTube – making it the largest music video premiere of 2017 to date. The original version of "Despacito" is currently number one on Billboard's Hot Latin Song chart, with more than 980 million views on the platform.
Just hours after the release of the "Despacito" remix, the Canadian singer dazzled the crowd when he debuted his brand new song during his concert in Puerto Rico. Fonsi joined the 23-year-old megastar, who was at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum for his Purpose Tour, onstage to perform their hot collaboration, which obviously caused fans to go wild. After the two singers performed the new song, Bieber thanked the Puerto Rican heartthrob for allowing him to collaborate on the addicting single.
"Thank you so much. This guy, thank you so much for letting me get on the record. It's amazing!" Bieber said after the performance. "I know you guys love this guy, give him a round of applause. I appreciate it."
